The partners in EEIG Corridor C develop specific measures to

• consolidate the cooperation between the infrastructure managers
• improve interoperability
• increase the drawing power of both the offer along the corridor and the service
• introduce the ERTMS signalling system

The mission of the EEIG is to

• build a detailed plan to introduce ERTMS along the corridor
• coordinate and follow-up the requests for financial support of ERTMS infrastructure activities
• coordinate the Corridor C approach with that of other corridors
• check and evaluate (audit) achievement

Additionally, the EEIG can

• advise on and support the projects of infrastructure managers and railway companies, from tender to implementation
• suggest methods to promote mutual acceptance of trains on the corridor
• study measures to use the full potential of the corridor and to improve interoperability, in association, among others,  with RailNetEurope
• enhance coordination in the fields of technology, exploitation and safety
• attract the necessary finances
• promote joint contracts for the ERTMS
