Several years ago, the European Commission mapped out 6 sets of lines or rail-road links that had a high potential in terms of increasing the freight traffic. These lines were called “corridors”. They are comparable to rail-road links making it possible to transport goods more quickly. They cover the major European industrial centres and are identified by letters going from A to F. They are a safe, efficient and ecological alternative to road traffic.
